Community Access

Ellis Medicine is a 438-bed community and teaching healthcare system serving New York’s Capital Region. With four campuses – Ellis Hospital, Ellis Health Center, Bellevue Woman’s Center and Medical Center of Clifton Park – and five additional service locations, Ellis offers an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services – including cardiac, cancer, emergency, neuroscience and women’s services.

The Medical Center of Clifton Park

The Medical Center of Clifton Park is a new campus which opened in 2012. The site is adjacent to the Northway, an interstate highway that connects New York City to the south with Montreal to the north. The town of Clifton Park is a growing suburb where residents would typically need to travel south to Albany and Schenectady or north to Saratoga Springs to access key healthcare services.

The new medical center is comprised of Enhanced Urgent Care, Imaging, and Laboratory services on the lower level, and physician practices in Cardiology, Primary Care, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Orthopedics on the upper level.

The residents of Clifton Park and surrounding communities have embraced the facility and it has been a very busy place from the start. Located near a major regional mall, it’s easy to find. It’s minutes from home and has plenty of convenient parking and a covered drop-off at the front door. The convenience and easy access are in contrast to most hospital campuses, belying the similar services, clinicians and technology that are housed inside.

Branding Opportunity

Ellis Medicine realized the opportunity that the visibility from an interstate provides, and the building form and signage were intentionally designed to strengthen the system’s brand in the minds of the tens of thousands of commuters and travelers who pass the site each day.
